Central North Island Golf Escape

Discover Some of New Zealand’s Finest Fairways

Embark on a guided or self-guided adventure through some of the most prestigious golf courses in the stunning Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. Whether you’re a group of two, four or a dozen, we’ll create a bespoke golfing getaway that you’ll never forget.

Less than 3-hours drive from Auckland International Airport the Waikato and Bay of Plenty offer up a feast of premium and authentic golf experiences.

The Kinloch Club

The only Jack Nicklaus designed course in New Zealand.

Legend has it that Nicklaus was somewhat annoyed by the recent low scores posted at a PGA tour event at one of his courses; he vowed to make his next design tougher. Kinloch is the result.

Come and discover one of the world’s must-play golf experiences. Pit yourself against the mind of the master as you explore the intriguing holes and championship fairways and challenge yourself on a course that is strongly regarded as one of the Golden Bear’s best.

Wairakei Golf & Sanctuary

The golf course was built by the New Zealand government and opened in 1970. The course lies on 180 hectares of natural rolling countryside and was developed to meet the rigorous design standards required for world class championship competition.

The architecture was assigned to Commander John Harris, England’s leading and most travelled golf course architect. Co-designers were Michael Wolveridge, and Peter Thomson, the Australian 5 times British Open champion. Together they produced New Zealand’s first internationally recognised golf course; there is little doubt for anyone that plays there that this trio exceeded all expectations.

Even if your golf is bad, the sanctuary and surrounds are worth a spoiled walk.

Tīeke Golf Estate

A unique riverbed masterpiece. Along the banks of the mighty Waikato River, Tīeke opened to visitors in 2022 and quickly became a sought-after golf experience.

Crafted out of sand from the original riverbed, the course employs river sand, fine fescue turf, and creeping bent greens. A blend of links and private valley golf where you often feel like the only golfers on the course.

Kiwi Golf Experience

From our collection of golf course partners, we will select a public member course in the greater Waikato region. You might wonder why such a venue is included among such prestigious company. The answer is simple: this is the beating heart of Kiwi golf. The facilities may be rustic, and the 5-star service might be on hold, but you will experience traditional, relaxed Kiwi hospitality in genuine surroundings.

Depending on the day and location, you may find yourself sharing the course with members participating in a weekly competition, or you might have the entire course to yourself.

Regardless of the scenario, we can guarantee that many will remember this day and course as the most memorable of the four.

While we cannot promise luxurious facilities, we can vouch for the quality and enjoyment of any venue we choose. We have played on all of these courses and continue to do so regularly. Rest assured; your Kiwi golfing experience will be one to cherish.
