Within 60-90 minutes from the Port of Tauranga there are a multitude of courses available. VIVID has a stable of courses that we have access to – this gives us a bit of weather protection (we can adjust our venue to get the best conditions for that day), avoid aerated greens, and generally fit in around Club Schedules and events.

They are cracking courses – we’ve played them all and some we are members of (past or present). They are courses built and lovingly maintained by a strong, proud membership. Depending on the day, you may even get to play alongside the members – nothing like a bit of inside knowledge to help your score!

In short, yes, the earlier the better. There’s a bit to organise before each trip – clubs, courses, lunch, carts, tee bookings etc. We want your day to be something you talk about when you return home – that takes a bit of planning on our side to ensure your Premium Grassroots Golf Experience. The more notice we have, the better that experience will be. 

Full price cancellation will be charged for any cancellations made within 48 hours of your tour.

A cancellation charge of the total booking value will apply to customers who fail to arrive at their pre-booked departure time without any notice.

VIVID Golf reserves the right to cancel any tour due to weather conditions, hazard identification, or events beyond our control that will interfere with the safe operation of the business. Customers affected will be offered full refunds.

We’re partnered with a Club Supplier so you’ll be kitted out with a premium set of reputable clubs. We’ll be in touch with you before the Tour for the best match.

On board the minivan we have “the birdie bin” – a selection of loved (and not-so-loved) putters for you to choose from on the day.

Your golf bag will also include a starter sleeve of 6 premium balls, plus tees, pitch repairers, and ball markers etc. (More balls are available for purchase if you’re having a bad day).

Everyone is in a cart – whenever possible, we’ll partner you with another player in that cart. If you have a preferred partner to play with just let us know when you book. Otherwise leave it with us. That’s the great thing about golf – the people you meet on the day!

Carts also assist us with pace-of-play so we can meet our requirement to have you back on board in time for departure.

No. Tidy casual is perfectly fine with comfortable walking/sports shoes in which to play.

Whatever you play in is completely suitable for the Clubhouse afterwards (a change of footwear aside). Please note, sometimes the Clubhouse won’t be open but bathroom access is always available.

The blazer and tie can stay at home.

NZ gets a lot of weather. Fine, hot, cold, windy, calm – all in the same day. It always pays to have something warm just in case.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat is strongly recommended for the harsh NZ sun.

A drinking bottle is handy (we provide water and meal/snacks for the day), as is a small backpack to keep everything together.

If you have a Garmin golf-watch or similar, the Courses are available on GPS mapping to assist your round.

It’s always good to have a few NZ Dollars on board or a Visa/Mastercard. (AMEX is not widely accepted in NZ).

New Zealand has a largely temperate climate which means mild temperatures, moderate rainfall, and abundant sunshine. The warmest months are December, January and February (our summer) when the average maximum temperature ranges between 20 – 30ºC (68 to 86 Fahrenheit).  Long days are the norm with full sunlight until well after 8pm. It can be humid.  We advise you to keep an eye on the local weather at metservice.co.nz and dress accordingly.

Our tour operates rain or shine so come prepared!

VIVID has an expectation to complete the round in approximately 4 hours – we share these courses with other players and we’re always mindful of our obligation to other users. We reserve the right to curtail a round if your group is outside of this timeframe in order for us to ensure your safe arrival back at port in time for departure.
